Yes, in most cities within Orange County, you can rent out your ADU as long as it meets current zoning and building codes. Some cities allow long-term rentals only, while others may restrict short-term rentals like Airbnb. We stay current with local regulations and will guide you through the options based on your city.
Yes, especially if you're adding a full kitchen, bathroom, or HVAC system. The city will require code-compliant utility connections, and older homes typically need upgrades to meet today’s standards. We assess this early in the design phase so there are no surprises during construction. Your whole home must be raised up to current city code when remodeling.
Yes. We handle everything from concept design to construction drawings, engineering, and permit submittals. We also manage any corrections that come back from the city until your plans are fully approved.
Room additions and ADUs are not DIY projects they involve structural engineering, city approvals, Title 24 energy compliance, electrical and plumbing planning, and more.
You’ll need scaled architectural drawings, and kitchens/baths must meet strict code requirements. We’ve spent decades navigating these complexities so you don’t have to.
A Junior ADU (JADU) is a smaller unit (150–500 sq ft) that’s attached to your home and often uses shared utilities. It typically includes a small kitchenette but may or may not have a private bathroom.
A regular ADU can be detached or attached, is larger (up to 1,200 sq ft), and functions as a fully independent living space.
